SUMMARY:“TIVOLI FEST” DANISH CELEBRATION
DESCRIPTION:Tivoli Fest\, Elk Horn\, Iowa’s annual Danish festival celebrating their Danish heritage\, is a fun and exciting time for Danes as well as visitors from around Iowa and the nation. This year’s celebration will be May 24\, 25\, and 26\, 2019.\nThis 40th annual festival is packed with an assortment of activities sure to please visitors of all ages.\nOn Friday\, to kick off the weekend\, there will be pre‐Tivoli Fest activities. On Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. there will be a flag‐raising ceremony and both the American and Danish flags will be presented\, with national anthems played. Following will be a\n5K Mill to Mermaid Fun Run\, and then the Tivoli Parade at 11:00a.m. on Saturday. Entertainment throughout the weekend will be at the Windmill Entertainment Stage (folk dancing\, rope making\, musical groups)\, and the Museum will be open for tours.\nA visit to Tivoli Fest would not be complete without sampling some mouth‐watering foods — Danish open‐faced sandwiches\,\nDanish desserts\, aebleskiver\, medisterpolse and more! The Open Air Street Market will be filled with vendors from far and near.
